Verde NRCD participation at the ISCO 99 Conference was made possible by the U.S. Natural Resource Conservation Service, Arizona State Office, Phoenix, Arizona. The NRCS sent Verde NRCD Supervisor John Parsons to ISCO 99 as an Earth Team volunteer to facilitate a poster presentation entitled, "Verde River: A Changing Landscape."

Every effort has been made to obtain the names and permission to publish from those individuals pictured on The ISCO Photo Album. Tech Notes

The ISCO Photo Album website is hosted by the Clarkdale-Jerome School District in Clarkdale, Arizona.  The school hosts the "nrcd.org" domain for several Arizona Conservation District websites as well as "verde.org", a site maintained for the Verde River watershed. A T-1 line connects the school to the Internet backbone at Arizona State University.

Content for The ISCO Photo Album was obtained by John Parsons while in attendance at the ISCO 99 Conference. He used a Polaroid PDC640 digital camera in medium resolution mode for the pictures of people and activities. The images were processed on a HP Omnibook 5500CT 133mHz laptop running Windows 95. HTML markup was done on the ASCII notepad program in Windows using some previously prepared templates from Net Objects Fusion 3.0.

Due to lack of a direct internet connection for FTP usage, the HTML files and pictures had to be attached to e-mail messages through both Yahoo and Hotmail free e-mail services. This cumbersome and time consuming method limited the real-time maintenance and updating of tThe ISCO Photo Album. In addition waiting time for computer access often reached more than 2 hours.

The Conservation Partnership between the Verde NRCD, the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Clarkdale-Jerome School seeks to provide useful information and educational material to private landowners, public natural resource managers and the public-at-large.
