The halls of the Purdue Memorial Union were filled with fellowship Thursday evening as
ISCO participants gathered to enjoy a dinner and keynote speaker. S.A.J. Sibanyoni (left), a South African
small farmer, and Benedict Kayombo, Botswana College of Agriculture, enjoyed the festivities.

The seating
arrangements helped the dinner guests make new acquaintences and learn about new places.

More
than 700 people were seated for the sumptuous dinner which was served buffet style. Pork, chicken and beef
tenderloin were served with tasty grilled vegetables and roasted potato. Each table enjoyed red and white wine
and dessert, too.

Lester Brown, Worldwatch Institute President, kept everyone's attention with his
theories about looming food shortages due to worldwide aquifer and surface water depletion. At right, Brown
follows up his talk in a discussion with Dr. Jon Heuch, a businessman affiliated with the University of
Edinberg, Kent, UK.

Following the dinner and speech many ISCO participants stayed to savor after dinner wine, some swap stories and enjoy each others' company.
