Parsons visits the:
Conservation Technology Information Center

The Conservation Technology Information Center is one of the great "unsung" resources available to natural resource managers, especially those dealing with watershed issues and concerns. Parsons has always be fascinated with CTIC's excellent products and performance. He paid them a visit during the ISCO Conference to learn more about the human side of a vital information resource.

Dan Towery (standing) is a Certified Crop Advisor and Natural Resources Specialist. He is well versed in the Farm Bill programs. Lyn T. Kirschner is a Water Quality Specialist who keeps track of a bewildering array of evolving water resources programs.

In picture at top right, Mick R. Haberzetle is the "man behind the scenes" for CTIC's useful Internet website. Mick keeps the 4 gig site running smoothly. The site is averaging about 140,000 hits per week, up by about half since recent efforts to improve the meta tag recognition for search engines.

Suzann Richardson is the person behind the voice which greets callers to CTIC. Thankfully, CTIC does not have an automated voicemail system and it is a welcome and refreshing change to talk to a real person when calling CTIC. Suzann was gracious enough to provide transportation for Parsons to visit CTIC.

Tanya DeeBene (in photo at lower left) will help Project Manager Karol Keppy produce the invaluable "Know Your Watershed" publications. CTIC staff must sort through a tidal wave of incoming information to find those useful nuggets which fit so neatly into the mailings.

Thanks for the hospitality, CTIC!
