Who Are We?
The Resource Center for Environmental Education is
a program parented by
the Coconino Natural Resource Conservation District. The
Center Is a non-profit organization that was started in 1978 to coordinate
and assist in developing environmental education programs in northern Arizona.
The Conservation District recognized a need for students and citizens in
northern Arizona to understand the vital facts of their relationship with
the environment. The District responded to this need with the Center.
The Center serves primarily as a coordinator for
developing environmental
education projects. It bridges the gap between
a demonstrated need within the
educational system and the environmental resources
available in universities,
federal, state and local agencies, other organizatlons,
and concerned individuals
The Center also provides means of on-going instructional
support for teachers
and community education. The approach relieves
the problems of costly
organizational staffing in individual school
districts and resource agencies. It
