Water Festival
The 2005 "Make a Splash" water festival was held at Cactus
Park (39th Avenue and Cactus) in Phoenix. Over 900 4th graders from
the Washington School District visited learning stations featuring
volunteers teaching about the water cycle, groundwater, watersheds, water
history, conservation and much more.

Water Hauling
Students learn about the history of water and learn to appreciate
the long journey that water takes to get to our homes.
Basin in a Bottle
Students built a watershed from a 2-liter bottle and experimented
with the effects of groundwater pumping on surface water, seeing that
all water resources are connected in some way.
The Incredible Journey
Students become water molecules and learn that the journey of every
water droplet is different. Each student made a bracelet that
shows his or her individual journey through the water cycle.
Watersheds
Using a model of a watershed, students learned that everyone lives
in a watershed (an area of land where water drains into.) Groups
got to experiment on their watershed models with construction,
pollution, dams, and other impacts to watersheds.
